The only things you'll need to supply are a drill, basic hand tools, and a carbon monoxide detector for your living space.

In most van builds, no. The Lavaner Pro Max taps directly into your vehicle's auxiliary diesel fuel port and is extracted via the included fuel line and pump. These auxiliary fuel ports are most commonly found in modern Sprinters and other diesel vehicles. Some vehicles may require you to add an auxiliary fuel port or use an external tank if this is not an option.

It's a manageable DIY install for anyone comfortable with basic van build work such running a fuel line, routing exhaust through a floor or wall penetration, and connecting a 12V wiring harness. The included manual is detailed and written in plain English. If you're newer to builds, we'd recommend watching a few install videos before you start, and feel free to reach out to us with questions along the way.

Yes. The Pro Max includes automatic altitude compensation that adjusts the fuel-air mix up to 10,000 feet, one of the key upgrades over the standard Lavaner Pro. It's the version we recommend if you're regularly camping or traveling in mountainous terrain.

Generic Chinese diesel heaters and the Lavaner Pro Max share a similar form factor, but the internals are meaningfully different. The Pro Max uses Kyocera glow plugs, dual Lattron temperature sensors, a 310S stainless steel combustion chamber, and an IP66-rated waterproof ECU which are components you'll find in heaters costing three to four times as much. It's a genuine middle ground between a no-name unit and a Webasto or Espar.

Yes, and this isn't a fine-print suggestion. Any combustion heater installed in an enclosed living space requires a working CO detector. It's not included in this kit and needs to be sourced separately. We consider it a non-negotiable part of any diesel heater install.

But if you can bring us your rig please contact us and we'll be happy to set up an installation for you. Otherwise, this kit is designed for DIY install, and we're happy to answer questions before and during your build.

Diesel heater installs involve penetrating your vehicle's fuel system and cutting into your floor or walls, so we need to be straightforward about returns. Unused, uninstalled units in original packaging are eligible for return within 30 days of delivery. Once any install components have been opened or used, the unit cannot be returned. If you have questions about fit or compatibility before you commit, reach out first! It's a much easier conversation to have before you buy than after. Approved returns are subject to a 10% restocking fee. Return shipping is the customer's responsibility. Once approved, you'll have 15 days to get the unit back to us.
