MEET THE TEAM
Steve Bonnell
Product Supervisor
Steve keeps Camp N Car’s product operations running smoothly. He oversees the product team, manages shipping logistics, and ensures every kit leaves the shop up to standard. Steve also supports supports CNC production and is a great source of humor and puns around the shop. Outside of work, he’s a talented musician and plays bass in the up and coming rock band Suzzallo.
Evelyn Fernandez
Custom Director
Evelyn brings her passion for vanlife and engineering know-how to every project at Camp N Car. Before settling in Port Townsend, she traveled the country in a self-built Ford Transit with her partner Tom and their two dogs. With her background in professional van conversions and knack for organization, Evelyn keeps our busy shop running smoothly, all while bringing warmth and good humor to the team.
Steve Moore
Director of Sales & Marketing
Steve is one of Camp N Car’s co-founders and leads sales and marketing. A Washington native and UW graduate, he spent six months exploring Alaska in a converted Honda Element, an adventure that inspired Camp N Car. When he’s not growing the business, Steve can be found climbing mountains, cooking gourmet meals, or playing guitar in his band Kronovale.
Martin Nerbovig
President
Martin is one of Camp N Car’s co-founders and our fearless leader. Raised on a farm in the foothills of the Olympic Mountains, he now calls Port Townsend home. As lead designer and head of daily operations, Martin keeps the shop running smoothly and brings deep expertise in engineering and manufacturing. Outside of work, he’s an inventor at heart who enjoys good books, creative projects, and the lively company of his family.
Ammon Smithson
Assistant Manager
Ammon brings an upbeat attitude, strong organization skills, and a friendly presence to Camp N Car’s Custom Shop. With a background spanning inventory management, machining, and customer-facing roles, he keeps projects on track and communication clear. From coordinating details behind the scenes to supporting clients throughout their build, Ammon’s reliability and problem-solving mindset help the shop run well.
Sam Trocano
Custom Lead
Sam brings a love of hands-on problem-solving and adventure-driven design to Camp N Car’s Custom Shop. With a background in boatbuilding, custom fabrication, and off-grid marine systems, he thrives on turning ideas into durable, well-crafted builds. Whether refining details or tackling tough fabrication challenges, Sam approaches each project with focus, creativity, and steady, calm confidence that keeps our builds moving.
Jason VanCamp
Shop Manager
Jason brings decades of hands-on experience and craftsmanship to the Camp N Car team. Before joining us, he spent twenty years as an ironworker in Seattle, helping build bridges, so he knows his way around complex projects. From carpentry and plumbing to electrical and glass work, Jason does it all and provides thoughtful management and guidance to our team of skilled craftspeople to ensure every van conversion is beautifully executed.
Andrew Vidal
Van Conversion Tech
Andrew brings a lifelong love of hands-on craftsmanship to Camp N Car’s Custom Shop. Before settling in Port Townsend with his family, he spent years traveling throughout the Pacific Northwest and working in a wide range of trades, from homebuilding to custom fabrication. His journey shaped a deep passion for teamwork, problem-solving, and adventure, values he proudly carries into every van he helps build.
Kallisti Villa
Product Tech
Kallisti is Camp N Car’s go-to maker for all things CNC and DIY. As the primary operator behind our car camping kits, she ensures every Trunk Bunk and Frontier Futon ships out with precision and care. Her craftsmanship doesn’t stop there, Kallisti also supports our custom shop, helping prepare the beautiful cabinetry and furniture that make each van uniquely Camp N Car. Outside the shop, she’s an enthusiastic cosplay maker and 3D printing nerd.
