If you're not sure which bed length your Tacoma has, measure from the inside of the tailgate to the inside of the cab wall.

If you're over 6 feet or just want maximum sleeping length, yes. The extension brings the platform from 72" to 84" straight by using the tailgate as a support point, and you still get all the standard parts with the kit so you can run it either way. It's an easy add-on that's hard to regret.

Both weigh the same at 22 lbs. per board. Bamboo is architectural-grade, super stiff, eco-friendly, and has a rich mineral-oil finish. Birch is durable, warp-resistant plywood that's the better choice if you plan to customize, paint, or modify the boards. Either is a solid platform that holds up to real use.

Built for tough conditions and rugged use, but not fully waterproof. For heavy wet exposure such as fishing, surf gear, extended rain without a shell, BamBed recommends coating the boards with a water-based polyurethane sealant. For bamboo boards, mineral oil is used in the initial finish and can be reapplied to restore the look if it starts to fade.
