Job Title: Product Tech
Reports to: Standard Director
Location: Port Townsend, Washington
Job Summary
This role helps keep things running smoothly at Camp N Car by handling basic CNC machine work, processing and packing kit parts, and getting shipments ready. You’ll also pitch in on custom builds, help keep the shop and office clean, restock supplies, and take care of trash and recycling runs in the company van. Keeping track of your time, expenses, and tasks accurately are also key aspects of this job.
Key Responsibilities
- Basic operations of the CNC machine and processing of CNC fabricated parts.
- Assist in the production of Camp N Car standard products by processing kit parts, packing kit components, and preparing packages for shipment.
- Maintenance of CNC and relevant equipment.
- Lend a hand in the custom shop by carrying out basic labor and carpentry as needed.
- Maintain shop and office cleanliness by carrying out a wide variety of janitorial duties such as sweeping, cleaning surfaces, moving scrap wood, and much more.
- Aid in the organization of our workspaces by ensuring fasteners, hardware, cleaning supplies, and other essential items are consistently stocked and replenished.
- Carry out dump runs with the Camp N Car company van and oversee all rubbish and recycling organization and removal when necessary.
- Accurately track hours, expenses, and details for all areas of responsibility.
Requirements
At its core, this is a support role that helps our team stay efficient and productive by ensuring a consistent flow of parts coming off the CNC machine that will be processed and ready to go for order fulfillment.
A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to cleanliness and consistency are the most important qualities we’re looking for. Basic experience with CNC machinery is highly desirable. Any additional professional experience in carpentry or van conversion work is also helpful.
At Camp N Car, clear and respectful communication is essential. We value growth, learning from mistakes, and taking pride in our craft. Candidates must be able to reliably commute to our shop in Port Townsend, Washington.
This position is intended for a later shift, running from approximately 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM. New hires will move into this schedule after a successful 1–3 month training and onboarding period.

Schedule
- 4-day work weeks with the potential to increase to 5-day work weeks if desired
- Training period work days to start at 9:00 AM and end at 5:00 PM
- Post-training work days to transition to a schedule of 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM
- Mandatory unpaid lunch and one paid break per work day
- Opportunities for a flexible schedule as needed, with advance notice
