We partnered with the Port Angeles Food Bank to convert a Ford Transit into a fully equipped mobile food distribution van, designed to help them better serve communities around the Olympic Peninsula. Before this project, the team relied on coolers and ice to transport perishable goods, a process that required long load and unload times. Our custom conversion provides a more efficient, reliable cold-storage solution, allowing the Food Bank to deliver fresh, nutritious food wherever it’s needed most.
To solve these problems we created this beautifully efficient and user-friendly conversion with full size chest fridges/freezers, improved shelving, and a full off-grid electrical system. This setup allows them to bring food to far flung communities throughout the Olympic Peninsula, all without having to fuss with ice or worry about losing power throughout the day. A few key features of this build include:
🔷 EcoFlow 15kWh Power Kit w/ 400W solar
🔷 Shore power adapter + sealed roof ports
🔷 Gasoline heater for reliable cabin warmth
🔷 Maxxair roof fan for airflow & ventilation
🔷 x4 Dual full-size chest fridge/freezers
🔷 120V & 12V outlets throughout interior
🔷 Puck ceiling lights on dimmer control
🔷 Sound deadening & full insulation
🔷 Raised Lonseal black flooring w/ epoxy
🔷 Flip-down overhead shelving for crates
🔷 Three heavy-duty pull-out storage trays
🔷 USB rechargeable faucet + inline filter
🔷 Mid-roof FVC roof rack for mounting gear
🔷 11.5’ manual side awning for shade
🔷 270° rear & driver side awning setup
🔷 Entry grab handle for easy interior entry
We’re so honored to have helped bring their vision to life! The Port Angeles Food Bank is already putting this van to work in the community, saving valuable time and resources. It marks a new chapter in their mission to nourish families across the Olympic Peninsula, and we can’t wait to see how their program continues to grow.
