The Home On Wheels Kit

Whether you’re a weekend warrior or a full time nomad the Home On Wheels Kit is here to give you the necessary components to have a great nights sleep and a place for your stuff all in an expertly engineered and easy to assemble kit.
In an effort to better serve the nomad community, this product was created as a part of a partnership with Bob Wells and the Homes On Wheels Alliance to design a build that could be used in their minivans that they award to their clientele who are working to avoid homelessness. This beautiful set of USA made van camping is perfect for a wide variety of minivans, large SUVs, truck beds and more. For every 10 of these we sell we will donate one whole kit to HOWA who will then award and install a build into the van of a nomad in need.
These kits are easy to assemble and come with all the components you need to get them put together in just a couple of hours. We take care of all the design, finishing and instructional work. All you need is a screwdriver and a sense of adventure! Should you face any difficulties our expert customer service team is here to guide you through any issues you might have and answer any questions that might come up when assembling and using our product.

The Homes On Wheels Kit has a maximum width that’s just under 4′ and a variable length of about 7′ or 7.5′ depending on the length of bed you choose. Your choice between a regular or tall Trunk Bunk will impact how high the bed sits. There are many other dimensions to consider in the cabinet and storage units that can be viewed in the gallery images above.
Bed Height & Length
Choose between 4 different options with two different Trunk bunk heights and length combinations. The regular Trunk Bunk sits lower to the ground while the Tall Trunk Bunk offers more clearance for gear underneath the bed platform area. Choose your height and pick a length of either 5.5 feet or 6 feet long depending on your storage needs and how how tall you are.
The Home On Wheels Kit can be adjusted in numerous ways to fit your vehicle camping needs. The bed component (known as the Trunk Bunk) expands and contracts to make the most of your vehicles space, while our leveler legs offer a solution to rear cargo areas with uneven floors. All components attach together for safety and maximum ease of use in your vehicle.

Have you ever lived or traveled extensively out of a vehicle?
The entire inspiration for Camp N Car comes from the shared experiences of the companies founders. Our managing director Steve Moore lived out of a special Honda Element camper in Alaska for 6 months which was designed by our Technical Director Martin Nerbovig. Through this experience he gained a deep insight into living a fulfilling and minimalist lifestyle on the road. After awhile friends started asking about getting builds of a similar nature done for their vehicles and here we are today! We are happy to share our experiences and skills with the world so that others may share in the same kind of joy that this travel brings. Why does the Home On Wheels Kit cost this much?
Everything we make is designed with a great deal of thorough engineering and care using advanced software and expensive machinery. From there we pick top quality and sustainable materials and hand craft everything here in Washington State to an extremely high standard. Additionally, our employees are highly skilled craftspeople who are paid living wages and are treated like our family.
The reality of doing all of this means we can’t offer goods that are as cheap as stuff you can buy out of China, but we are determined to continue being a company that manufactures solely in the United States and supports our local economy. The result may be something a bit more expensive, but the quality and customer service speaks for itself.
Furthermore, your purchasing of this unit helps fund our donations to the Homes On Wheels Alliance so that these kits can get into the hands of nomads in need.
Can you ship out of the United States? How about Alaska or Hawaii?
As of now we are only able to offer shipping within the contiguous United States, although we do plan on changing this someday. Currently the cost of shipping our products out of the country or Alaska and Hawaii is just too cost prohibitive for us or for our customers. If you don’t live in the lower 48 of the United States and are really determined to get a some of our products from us and are prepared to pay a very high shipping cost, feel free to contact us and we may be able to arrange something.

We have just the solution for this issue! For vehicles with even bigger sloped areas some DIY solutions to fill those spaces may be required. If you need advice or have questions on this front don’t hesitate to contact us!
